After a man was punched outside a Leicestershire country bar and died, a murder investigation was started.
A 36-year-old male who was first detained on suspicion of causing grievous bodily injury has been detained again on suspicion of murder, according to Leicestershire Police.
A 66-year-old man died six days after being assaulted outside a country bar, prompting police to open a murder probe. After being hurt on December 21 close to the Crown Inn in Appleby Magna, North West Leicestershire, David Darke passed away in a hospital on Saturday.

Last Sunday at around 9:45 p.m., officers were sent to the tavern. The victim was hit outside and suffered a severe head injury, according to the force.
“The first inquiry resulted in us finding multiple witnesses and studying CCTV from the area,” stated Detective Inspector Kevin Hames of the East Midlands Special Operation Murder inquiry Team.
“Detectives will continue their investigations and re-interview the suspect. “Mr. Darke’s family is going through a very trying time, and professional police are helping them.”
